About Me

With gratitude, I wish to honor the teachers and mentors I have met in my lifetime. I bow my head to you, my beloved teachers, for your unending support. The divine job of “teaching” has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I cherish sharing the wealth of knowledge and revel in the sparkle of comprehension in a student’s eye. To spend my life in the profession of teaching would be the greatest gift I could receive.

Presently, I am working towards my Ph.D. in Network and Information Technologies with IN3 at the Universitat de Catalunya, Barcelona, conducting research in the field of Smart Home Cybersecurity.

Beforehand, I worked at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and served as an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in the Department of Computer Science from Oct 2012 to Oct 2018. Before that, I was part of Adi Shankra Institute of Engineering and Technology, Cochin, India and worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from Feb 2006 to Oct 2012, and also spearheaded the Information Technology Department during 2011-2012.

I received my M. Tech  (Computer Science and Engineering- Information Security) from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, Surathkal, Karnataka, India, and B-Tech in Information Technology from, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India.

My humble life in academia has enriched me with invaluable knowledge on designing creative educational policy and concrete teaching strategies. As a facilitator and evangelist for the field of Information Security, I always strive to keep the curriculum of my university up-to-date with the new trends and innovations in this area. During my tenure at various international Universities, I have identified several excellent opportunities for developing new courses in the area of Information Security and Digital Forensic Sciences, and have taught more than 12 different courses for both UG and PG students. I take pains to consider the teaching evaluations of my students to polish my skills in delivering quality teaching and research guidance.

Regarding research experience, my area of research focus in computer engineering lies in the field of Cyber Security & Digital Forensic Sciences. The main objective of my research is to trace malicious users and regenerate the contents of network sessions when network traffic anomalies have been reported, in LANs or computing environments. This all-inclusive analysis incorporates network forensic investigation on a particular network session based on the nature of service, as well as protocols used for communication over the internet. I have also published several scientific papers on this topic in frontline international journals and conferences.

C Programming and Data Structure” is my recent book (2017) published after years of teaching experience, targeting beginners to enable them to quickly learn the fundamentals of C programming and Data Structure. This book encapsulates the mathematical foundations required for any programming language, supplemented with model programs and Q&A sections. This book also encapsulates several tested pedagogical principles manifested throughout my career, particularly my involvement in programming courses. Another book of mine on Python Programming Techniques is in the process of publication.

As a lifelong academician and member of the Infosec community, I look forward to continuing my strong contribution to creating top-notch practitioners of computer science and security for the challenges of tomorrow.

I would like to thank you for visiting my site.
