Information Security and Forensics- Key Differences

Information Security is technique of securing data through encryption methods and other related procedures in various reaches like computer communication, internet, web and many more

Where as Digital forensics deals about tracing physical traces of any attacks, malicious activities and recreating a previous network crime scene from network packets. the parameters like IP, MAC ID, port numbers etc play important role in tracing forensic details  of a crime.

So we can also say both fields are closely related

The two (infosec and forensics) are like apples and oranges. Both fruits, each different. In forensics, depending on what you are doing, there could be life and liberty at hand if you are performing forensics with the ultimate route being, a court case. In infosec, same applies (slightly): life, privacy. (If you’re working at say a SCADA based environment, one mishap could endanger life, if you’re working in the medical arena, privacy comes first).

Cyber Physical Systems

Cyber-Physical Systems are systems that integrate computing elements with the physical components and processes. The computing elements coordinate and communicate with sensors, which monitor cyber and physical indicators, and actuators, which modify the cyber and physical environment. Cyber-Physical Systems use sensors to connect all distributed intelligence in the environment to gain a deeper knowledge of the environment, which enables a more accurate actions and tasks.
