Virtual Labs
Virtual Lab Technologies provide remote access to labs in various disiplines of science and engineering.
It is designed to cater to students at UG, PG levels as well as research scholars.This Technology enables the students to learn at their own place and to arouse their curiosity.It offers a complete learning management system that includes web resources, video lectures, animated demonstartions and self evaluation. Students can access various labs anytime from anywhere which are free of usage. It is accessible through internet on any PC or laptop and even on tablets and mobile phone. Since it is designed as self learning mode, students can do experiments by reading theoritical working of experiments.Over 120 Virtual labs have been developed in various streams of engineering and science. Working with virtual lab technology team at NITK(where I studied M.Tech) inspired me to use various labs in computer engineering stream especially computer programming, complex algorithms, information security skills and Image processing experiments etc.
I always enjoy handling laboratories of computer science and engineering as an opportunity to work directly with students for implementing theoretical aspects. Working with the basic and advanced laboratories in Virtual labs in computer science has taught me how to updated. I have been using virtual laboratories for the past 5 years in addition to physical labs so that students approach, enjoy and understand lab experiments with animation and other live aids. Hence, Using virtual laboratories is one of my strong pedagogy in through out my teaching experience.
